Peter Gabriel - In The Neighborhood (Tom Waits cover): The Voice Project

Una versión "soberbia", sólo con piano y voz, donde Peter Gabriel interpreta un tema de TOM WAITS, "In The Neighborhood "...una joya musical por su sencillez. Esta canción aparece en un Proyecto auspiciado por la hija de Peter Gabriel, "Anna", llamado THE VOICE PROJECT (merece la pena darse una vuelta por la página web). Según creo intenta concienciar al mundo a través de las canciones, hacerlo partícipes de la dura realidad por la que atraviesan algunas poblaciones en África.

"Thinking of what to say about this video and the Stephin Merritt lyric "not for all my little words" came to mind. There's a couple reasons for that, but basically Peter pretty much says what needs to be said. You can see it's a heartfelt performance and really is a truly "beautiful piece of writing" by Tom Waits... but also in the grand scheme of things, it's one of those times we just had to sit back and take it in for a moment. The message being passed in song by some women in one of the longest terrorized places in the world, just some words and melodies that they hoped would reach those they loved hiding nearby, hopeless and scared in the bush, or maybe at most few dozen kilometers away in Southern Sudan or
Eastern Congo, that their voices could have carried so far, that their message could have made it all this way, still being carried and amplified by each who has passed it on... "
